How to Groom?

Your puppy needs daily grooming for a healthy coat, nails and ears. Pembroke Welsh Corgis have a double coat.  A daily combing or brushing will remove dead hair and help with shedding. Twice a year their major shed called “blow” takes place, this is where their furry fine undercoat will shed out.  We have great success with the Furminator which easily removes the soft light undercoat.  Desensitizing puppies feet helps when it comes to clipping nails and trimming hair between pads.  Constantly playing, holding, squeezing and handling their feet helps to desensitize them for grooming.  Check ears regularly keeping clean of dirt and wax.  Remember, maintenance is preventative care.
